Rosaria rents the basement at 22 Bearnaise. She sleeps on the floor on a bed of shredded copies of The Wall Street Journal. She has been looking for work since Dow Jones downsized her a year ago. She’s a no-nonsense chicken who keeps her feathers clipped short and her political views to herself. Her favorite film is The Last Waltz and when Robbie Robinson sings “I want to lay down beside you,” she says “Yes, yes.”

She prefers sticky buns to jelly doughnuts but when peck comes to scratch she could live on del Fabro’s Carrot Cake.
